Sh. Milandhoo Council has started to driving licenses issuing service permanently in the island.
The service was launched at a special function held to start the service. President of Shaviyani Atoll Council Mohamed Shiyam, members of Milandhoo council, heads of government institutes in the island, employees from government institutes attended the function.
Milandhoo Council President Abdulla Athif stated that in Milandhoo license cards for vehicles belonging to the zone A will be issued. Athif also stated that around 117 people from the island have already noted their names on the council to obtain a new license. Therefore, services will be provided to them as soon as possible. In this regard until service is provided to those who have noted at the moment, each day service will be provided 10 people.
Athif further noted that people of the island have been eagerly waiting for licenses issuing service, therefore the service will make it easier for the people of the island to obtain new licenses and renew them, and service can be obtained while staying at the island, saving both time and cost. Also, people from neighboring islands will come to Milandhoo to seek the services. Moreover, President of Sh. Atoll council Mohamed Shiyam the service will make it easier for people from nearby islands, not just Milandhoo.
MVR 500000 was spent from the island’s council budget to start the service in Milandhoo.
