Sh. Funadhoo has secured the first slot in the final of the Futsal competition of Tourism 50, Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022, organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism.
Funadhoo and Kanditheemu met in the first semi-final match of the tournament held at Feydhoo Futsal Ground yesterday evening. As match ended in a 1-1 draw, in the penalty shootout, Funadhoo defeated 6-5 against Kanditheem to secure their first slot in the final of the tournament. Mohammad Shan from Kanditheemu team was selected as the best player of player of the match
The second semi-final match will be played at 1600hrs today at the Narudhoo Futsal Ground. Narudhoo will play against Milandhoo in the second semi-final match. The final match of the tournament will be played on the 19th of this month.
In addition to the Futsal tournament, Mila Uthuru Handball Tournament for women from Shaviyani Atoll is also scheduled to be held at the fiesta. The handball competition, which was participated by 10 teams from 10 islands of Shaviyani Atoll, will begin on November 22.
