The play-off matches between the second-placed teams of each group has concluded to secure the semi-final slots of the Futsal competition of Tourism 50, Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022, organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism.
Narudhoo secured the last slot of semi-final by goal difference after a 3-3 draw against Goidhoo in the last play-off match played at the Feydhoo Futsal Ground. With the result, Goidhoo and Narudhoo got four points in the play-off round, while Narudhoo secured a place in the semi-finals with the advantage of goal difference. Mohamed Ahsham of Goidhoo was selected as the best player of the match.
The two semi-final matches are scheduled to be played today. Narudhoo will play against Milandhoo at 1630hrs in the Naradhoo Futsal Ground, while Kanditheemu play against Funadhoo in the semi-final at Feydhoo Futsal Ground. The final match of the tournament will be played on the 19th of this month.
In addition to the Futsal tournament, Mila Uthuru Handball Tournament for women from Shaviyani Atoll is also scheduled to be held at the fiesta. The handball competition, which was participated by 10 teams from 10 islands of Shaviyani Atoll, will begin on November 22.
