Tourism 50, Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022, commenced in Shaviyani Atoll

The Futsal competition of Tourism 50, Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022, organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism, commenced yesterday at Sh. Narudhoo.

While the Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022 commenced with festivities, Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom visited Narudhoo and attended the first  match. A warm welcome was given to the Minister when he arrived at Sh. Narudhoo.

14 teams from 14 islands of Shaviyani Atoll participated in the Futsal competition. Participated teams are divided into three groups. Group A consists of Foakaidhoo, Maroshi, Feevah, Milandhoo and Narudhoo. Group B consists of Feydhoo, including Goidhoo, Noomaraa, Bileffahi, Kanditheemu and Feydhoo. Group B matches will be played at Feydhoo. Group C matches will be played in Lhaimagu. Teams in Group C are Maaungoodhoo, Komandoo, Lhaimagu and Funadhoo.

In addition to the Futsal tournament, Mila Uthuru Handball Tournament for women from Shaviyani Atoll is also scheduled to be held at the fiesta. The handball competition, which was participated by 10 teams from 10 islands of Shaviyani Atoll, will begin on November 21.
