Construction works has commenced for the new mosque to be built in Ha. Thuraakunu.

The project was inaugurated by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali and Hoarafushi constituency parliament member Ahmed Saleem.

The mosque, which has a capacity of 300 people, was contracted to Micron Private Limited for construction. The project was awarded to the company for MVR 10.6 million on March 23, 2022, to be completed within 365 days.

In addition, the ceremony was attended by the senior officials of the Ministry and the Thuraakunu Council.
