President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially opened the newly built powerhouse and office in Ha. Utheemu.
In a ceremony held at the island, the newly built powerhouse and office in Utheemu was officially opened by the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during his visit to the four islands of Thiladhunmathi. He was accompanied at the ceremony by CEO of Fenaka Corporation Ahmed Saeed.
The power house in Utheemu has been relocated after 24 years. Previous powerhouse in Utheemu is 130 square feet and the newly opened powerhouse is 478.89 square feet. And the powerhouse office building is 158.26 square feet.
The newly opened powerhouse includes a deg room, control room, work shop, day tank and diesel tank. The office building also includes a meeting room, reception and a general office.
The previous powerhouse in Utheemu has a generator capacity of 700 kW and the new powerhouse has a capacity of 1,000 kW. And one of the biggest challenges faced by the people of Utheemu was the presence of powerhouses in the residential area. Therefore, the new powerhouse has been built far from the residential area.
In addition, the new powerhouse is designed to accommodate 4 gensets of 600 kW.
