President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the HDh. Naivaadhoo water system.

The ceremony held to inaugurated the water as part of his current visit to four islands of Thiladhunmathi Atoll.

With the completion of the project, 198 households in the island are currently being provided with clean drinking water. 

Moreover, residents of the island have the opportunity to use the water taken from the roof after filtering.

The project, which began in October 2019, was completed by the SAS e Construction Private Limited in June. The project is valued at MVR 15,398,304.77.

As part of the project, two RO plants producing 40 tonnes of water per day, a network of 4.5 kilometers of water system, two 185 tonnes of water storage tanks and 150 tonnes of rainwater storage have been installed.

In addition, other development projects ongoing at the island include developing a sewerage system, and planned projects include installation of turf on football ground, shore protection project, upgrading the health center, and expanding the harbour.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that there are many other needs of the island. And his hope is that the harbour development project of the island would be completed during the current term.
