The annual Quran Competition organized by the North Thiladhunmathi Atoll Council has commenced.
Total 102 students form 12 schools of the atoll participated the competition which began in capital of the atoll Dhidhdhoo. The Schools participated in the competition are Utheemu Ghaazee Bandaarainge School, Muraidhoo School, Molhadhoo School, Atoll Education Center in Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo School, Kelaa Seikh Ibrahim School, Atoll Education Center in Dhidhdhoo, , Baarah School, Vashafaru School, Filladhoo School, Thuraakunu School, and Maarandhoo School.
Student from the island were selected after holding an island-level audition. Moreover, competition will be conducted in accordance with the regulations followed in the National Quran Recitation Competition. Further, competition will be conducted in both memorized and non-memorized category.
According to the Atoll council, the purpose of holding the competition is to increase the love for the Holy Quran among the students of Ha. Atoll and inculcate religious spirit.
