STO Viyavathi Quran Competition commenced in Sh. Atoll

Viyavathi Quran Competition, organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council for all islands of Shaviyani Atoll has commenced.

A total of 85 students from 10 schools in the atoll participated in the competition.

The competition is being held in collaboration with Shaviyani Atoll Council, Island Councils and Schools. The purpose of the competition is to inculcate love for the Holy Quran in the hearts of the people of Shaviyani Atoll, to inculcate the art of reciting the Quran, and to build a capable generation to represent the atoll in national competitions. Moreover, inculcating a spirit of unity among the people of the atoll, encouraging to develop of Qari’s and Hafiz, and establishing strong relations between schools.

According to the Atoll Council, MVR 500,000 will be spent on the competition. STO is the main sponsor of the competition. The co-sponsors are Fenaka Corporation and Fuel Supply Maldives.

Viyavathi Quran Competition has been held annually since 2006 by the Shaviyani Atoll Council.
