RTL commenced trial operations in Shaviyani Atoll

Raajje Transport Link (RTL) has commenced trial operations in Shaviyani Atoll.

According to the announcement by the Ministry of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure RTL will operate ferries from seven routes in Shaviyani Atoll. Moreover, Ministry stated that during the trial period no charges will be taken from the customers. Purpose of these trial period is to increase the awareness among the public on RTL services.

Shaviyani Atoll will be the third atoll to commence RTL ferry services under the first phase of Integrated National Public Ferry Network. Four speed boats were sent to Shaviyani Atoll on last Sunday to commence RTL operations.

RTL services were first launched in Haa Dhaalu Atoll and later in Haa Alifu Atoll as part of the government’s project to connect the Maldives with a high-speed ferry system.
