MMC Holds Discussions with Ambassador of Japan

Maldives Media Council (MMC) has held discussions with the Ambassador of Japan.

Discussions were held with the Embassy of Japan on providing training opportunities for the Maldivian journalists through educational institutions in Japan.

From the MMC discussions were attended by President of MMC Mohamed Shafau Hassan, Member Ali Hussain, Member Uz. Ibrahim Fauzee and Secretary General of the Council Dr. Mohamed Sameer and from Embassy of Japan discussion were attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E Takeuchi Midori and Mr. Ota Yoshu, Researcher/Advisor.

During the meeting, discussions were mainly focused on inviting Maldivian journalists to Japan for field trips. Furthermore, the MEXT Scholarship and potential future collaboration were also discussed.

The Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives, Her Excellency Takeuchi Midori, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, assured the Council that she would work towards facilitating training opportunities for Maldivian journalists.
