60% of Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Shore protection project completed

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) stated 60% of Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Shore protection project has been completed.

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that have completed construction of breakwater and existing groyne reprofiling works and construction of revetment is underway.

Under the Hoarafushi Airport Shore protection project include coastal protection and construction of a concrete culvert on the causeway which connects from Hoarafushi to the Airport.

The project has been contracted to MTCC by National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure with a budget of MVR 90.5 million.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
