Maldive Gas has opened a Nitrogen plant and a high capacity oxygen plant in Thilafushi.
According to Maldive Gas, the Nitrogen plant was opened to increase the capacity of Nitrogen required for the Maldives. Also, the company stated that the price of gas from abroad is high and that complaints are being received from its customers when there is a shortage in the stock.
The company stated that with the plant, all complaints of its customers will be resolved. As per the company, the plant will produce the highest-purity nitrogen available in the market. That is the purity of 99.9995%. Hence, Nitrogen will be available to customers without any shortage.
Moreover, an oxygen plant that can produce 52 cubic meter gas per hour also has been established to increase the capacity of the oxygen plant. This plant was established to increase the capacity of oxygen produced since the country faced an oxygen shortage due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, Maldive Gas stated that they had to work day and night to produce the necessary medical oxygen required for medical facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with the new plant, they can produce necessary medical oxygen required for all hospitals in the Maldives.
Maldive Gas produces medical oxygen in accordance with Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) standards.
