Solar panels have been installed in some mosques of Ha. Ihavandhoo.

Ihavandhoo Council stated that Solar panels were installed in four mosques in the island. And the main work of installing solar panels in the mosques has now been completed and finishing works are currently underway.

Moreover, Ihavandhoo Council said that solar was installed in mosques under an agreement signed between Ihavandhoo Council and Fenaka Corporation Limited. Under the agreement payments for the service will be paid in long term installments.

Furthermore, Fenaka has also begun providing solar energy to households under “Fenaka Home Solar”. Fenaka Corporation has previously stated that the project is being carried out in collaboration with Fenaka Corporation and the Ministry of Environment to reduce the amount spent on electricity by the general public and reduce the government’s dependence on oil for electricity generation.

With the home solar system, the amount of toxic gases released to the atmosphere will be reduced and a safe environment for living can be created. In addition, the system will also help the government achieve the net zero target set for 2030.
