Narudhoo Council Futsal Competition 2022 started

Narudhoo Council Futsal Competition 2022, organized by Sh. Narudhoo Council began yesterday.

The opening ceremony of the competition was inaugurated by the President of Shaviyani Atoll Council Ahmed Shiyam. Moreover, two matches of the tournament were played yesterday and two matches are scheduled for today.

According to the Narudhoo Council, the purpose of the competition include the development of Futsal in Narudhoo and the development of football skills of the island’s youth.

Total six teams participated in the competition, in which teams were divided into two groups, and two teams with the highest point in each group would reach the semifinals. The two teams that won the semi-finals will then be given a place in the final.

Speaking about the competition, Narudhoo Council Officer Mahir stated that the competition was a football competition held in the island many years ago. However, this year it is changed to Futsal competition since the Island’s football ground is currently under construction.
