Ha. Dhidhdhoo is preparing to celebrate a colorful Eid al-Adha this year.
This year’s Eid celebrations in Dhidhdhoo are organized collaboratively with Dhidhdhoo Council, Dhidhdhoo Women’s Development Committee (WDC), Youth of Dhidhdhoo and institutions in Dhidhdhoo.
Several activities are scheduled for the upcoming Eid. In this regard, celebrations are scheduled for a total of five days, starting from Eid al-Adha. Some of the activities scheduled for the Eid are a breakfast after Eid prayer, a hunting show, fireworks, Cooking Competition, Sports competitions, Stage show and many more.
According to the Dhidhdhoo Council President Abdulla Rasheed, this year’s Eid celebration will be the one of the most colorful celebrations in the Island. In this year’s eid celebrations people from all age groups will participate. Rasheed further noted that for the first time fireworks will be held at the island in this year’s Eid.
In addition, to celebrate the Eid, fireworks will be held on several islands including 3 islands from Thiladhunmathi. They are Ha. Dhidhdhoo, Ha. Vashafaru, and Ha. Baarah.
