Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has handed over drag brush machines to football grounds in 25 islands, including 7 islands of Thiladhunmathi.

A special ceremony held at the Ekuveni Synthetic Track to hand over 25 drag brush machines to the islands was attended by Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof and members of the Parliament.

The islands of Thiladhunmathi Atoll, which received drag brush machines by the Ministry of Youth are Ha. Ihavandhoo, Ha. Dhidhdhoo, HDh. Hanimaadhoo, HDh. Nolhivaram, HDh. Nellaidhoo, Sh. Funadhoo and Sh. Foakaidhoo. Other islands which received the drag brushes are N. Kudafari, N. Velidhoo, N. Manadhoo, R. Dhuvaafaru, R. Maakurathu, Lh. Olhuvelifushi, K. Gulhi, K. Guraidhoo, AA. Rasdhoo, ADh. Maamigili, V. Keyodhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, Th. Thimarafushi, GA. Villingili, GDh. Thinadhoo, S. Hulhudhoo, and S. Feydhoo. In addition to these 25 islands, the ministry also handed over drag brush machines to 12 islands last year. 

It is a presidential pledge of the government to develop quality football grounds in the islands. Currently, 40 grounds have been completed. According to the Youth Minister, 85 grounds are currently under construction across the country.
