Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has revealed fireworks will be held on a total of 18 islands including 3 islands of Thiladhunmathi to celebrate this year’s Eid Al-Adha.

The three islands of Thiladhunmathi in which fireworks are scheduled are Ha. Baarah, Ha. Dhidhdhoo and Ha. Vashafaru. Other islands in which fireworks are scheduled are N. Velidhoo, N. Holhudhoo, N. Fohdhoo, R. Maakurathu, B. Fulhadhoo, B. Dharavandhoo, B. Eydhafushi, K. Dhiffushi, K. Guraidhoo, K.Himmafushi, K. Gaafaru, AA. Thoddoo, AA. Ukulhas, GDh. Fiyoaree, and S. Hithadhoo.

Moreover MNDF stated that the institution has not decided to celebrate Eid with fireworks in any island. However, MNDF noted that SIFCO has received requests from 18 islands to arrange fireworks events and it will be done on a business basis.

Only MNDF company SIFCO has been permitted to conduct fireworks events in the county.
