Shaviyani Atoll Council has donated computer systems to seven islands of Sh. Atoll Women’s Development Committees (WDC).
According to the President of Shaviyani Atoll Council Mohamed Shiyam, the computer systems were received from sponsors in the first round of the programme organized by Shaviyani Atoll Council to strengthen the functioning of WDC’s in Shaviyani Atoll.
Under the programme, the computer system was donated depending on the administrative situation of WDC’s in the islands and the performance of the committees. In the first round computer systems were given to Noomaraa, Feydhoo, Maaungoodhoo, Goidhoo, Narudhoo, Feevah and Bilehfahi.
Moreover, Shaviyani Atoll Council has stated efforts are underway to find systems for islands that have not been provided with computer systems in the first round. Also, if they are unable to get the computer systems through sponsors, council plans to include in the next year’s budget.
In the first round of the programme, Fenaka corporation limited donated seven computer systems and therefore the council expressed its gratitude for fenaka corporation’s assistance in the development and advancement of women. Also WDCs in Shaviyani Atoll thanked Atoll council for their efforts in strengthening the functioning of WDCs in the atoll.
Shaviyani Atoll Council has been providing assistance to women’s committees, schools and councils in the islands. Recently, MVR 5,000 has been given to each island council to organize Eid sports as a gift.
