Local Government Authority (LGA) has contracted to prepare land use plans for 13 islands in Bodu Thiladhunmathi.

At a ceremony held at LGA, topgraphic surveys and land use plans in 18 islands of Bodu Thiladhunmathi were contracted to a Maldivian company called Epoch Associates Private Limited. Epoch Associates will collaborate with Chariot Studio for the project.

The agreement signed at LGA yesterday is valued at MVR 1.4 million. The project is scheduled to be completed within three months. According to LGA project will be carried in Ha. Maarandhoo, Ha. Vashafaru, Ha. Thakandhoo, Ha. Molhadhoo, HDh.  Kurinbi, HDh. Hirimaradhoo, Sh. Foakaidhoo, Sh. Feydhoo, Sh. Lhaimagu, Sh. Narudhoo, Sh. Noomaraa, Sh. Maroshi, Sh. Komandoo, R. Alifushi, R. Maduvvari, R. Maakurathu, R. Vaadhoo, and R. Rasgetheemu.

Recently, it has been brought to the attention of the government that although many islands have submitted the land use plan to the relevant ministries after preparing the plan, it has not been passed. Therefore, the councils have noted that they are facing major challenges in developing the islands.
