55% of Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Shore protection project completed

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) stated 55% of Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Shore protection project has been completed.

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that breakwater profiling works and construction of groyne are currently underway, with 94% and 70% completion respectively.

Under the Hoarafushi Airport Shore protection project include coastal protection and construction of a concrete culvert on the causeway which connects from Hoarafushi to the Airport.

The project has been contracted to MTCC by National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure with a budget of MVR 90.5 million.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
