A total of 900 trees have been planted and 25 tonnes of waste has been collected from Kulhudhuffushi city to mark World Environment Day.
The event, held under the theme “Finifehi City” to mark Environment Day were held in collaboration with kulhudhuffushi City Council and the institutions of the island.
Kulhudhuffushi City Council stated that 25 tonnes of waste, including plastic, iron and glass, were collected from the eastern side of the island during the event. Moreover, 500 trees were planted in the beach of West Side of the island and further 200 trees were planted in the roads of the city.
Furthermore, Kulhudhuffushi City Council thanked the institutions for their support to conduct the event. In addition, council stated that they hope that all citizens would support such activities in cleanliness and greening the islands.
