The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has conducted community-based rehabilitation training programs in seven islands of Shaviyani Atoll.
These community-based rehabilitation training program conducted to ensure the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.
Gender Ministry stated that two day training program were conducted in Milandhoo, Foakaidhoo, Feydhoo, Bileffahi, Goidhoo, Kanditheemu and Feevah. And program was targeted for ‘Ibama’ members of institutes in these Islands.
Ibama program for strengthening social services in communities in Shaviyani Atoll was commenced in March 24, 2022.
In addition, Gender Ministry noted that the establishment Ibama will have a positive impact on the human rights of the entire Maldivian society, and that the main aim of the project is to provide protection at the island level to those in need of social security, which will facilitate the equal achievement of human rights for all. The Ministry further stated that if the works of Ibama runs as planned will have a direct and indirect impact on gender equality in the entire Maldivian society.
