Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has commenced a program to teach school children how to categorize waste.
WAMCO held sessions in Izzuddin School and Rehendhi School yesterday.
WAMCO stated that the program will teach children how to categorize waste easily. The company also stated that the program will teach them how to reduce waste production.
In addition,
WAMCO has ordered its customers to categorize waste before disposal, from next month onwards. In this regard, households in the Greater Male’ Region are required to separate waste into three categories, while waste must be categorized in four categories in other islands.
Furthermore, many are expressing concern over the waste disposal order. However, WAMCO stated it will not be difficult and the fee for the service will not be increased.
