Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that 45% of AA. Maalhos Harbour Development Project has been completed.
MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that dredging operation has been completed on March 2022, and Breakwater profiling works are underway with 61% completion.
Under the project to develop the Maalhos Harbour MTCC has to dredge 24335 cubic meter of new harbour basin, construction of a 407 meter breakwater, a 100 meter revetment, 56 meter groyne, and a 394 meter quay wall. In addition, the installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights and construction of a ramp will be undertaken.
The project is worth MVR 56.9 million.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
