Ha. Utheemu electricity cable network upgrading project has been awarded to Anbalan Construction.

The agreement was signed between Anbalan Construction and Fenaka Corporation Limited at a ceremony held at Fenaka Utheemu branch office.

According to the Station Manager of Utheemu Fenaka Branch Mohamed Hamdhoon, this is the result of the efforts to upgrade cable network after 30 years since it was established. Moreover, Hamdhoon appreciated the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Constituency MP Ahmed Abdulla, and Fenaka Corporation MD Ahmed Saeed Mohamed for their efforts in taking Electricity service in the Island to a higher level.

The Government recently sent a 400 kW Generator to the newly built Powerhouse in the Island. And new Powerhouse has been brought to operation on February 22, 2022, after relocation.

Relocation of Utheemu’s powerhouse to an isolated area commenced on February 9, 2019. Fenaka stated that the new powerhouse in the Island, which has a population of 973, will further strengthen the electricity situation of the Island and facilitate social and economic development.

Fenaka is carrying out several projects across the country to build new office buildings and new powerhouses to relocate the existing powerhouses in the Islands to isolated areas.
