96 Ambulances handed over to Government by STO

As a part of the contract with Government and State Trading Organization (STO) to bring Ambulances for Hospitals and Health Centers in atolls, all the Ambulances has been brought to Maldives and handed over to the Ministry.

The ambulances were handed over to the Ministry by CEO and Managing Director of STO Hussain Amru Mohamed Rashad at a ceremony held at the STO Head Office to mark the completion of the project. Minister Ahmed Naseem received the Ambulances on behalf of the Ministry.

The government assigned STO to bring 96 Ambulances to use in Hospitals and Health Centers in atolls on July 10, 2021.  The agreement was signed between The Ministry of Finance, STO and The Ministry of Health.

In addition, STO stated that they are pleased to be able to contribute significantly to the provision of ambulances to all inhabited islands of the country as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the health system in the Maldives.
