Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has decided to build anInternational Preschool in Ha. Hoarafushi as part of MTCC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
At the groundbreaking ceremony held at Hoarafushi, Hoarafushi MP Ahmed Saleem (Salle) laid the foundation stone for the Hoarafushi International Preschool. Vice President Ahmed Imdhah of the Hoarafushi Council, MTCC CEO Adam Azim, and other senior officials from the company also attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
According to the Vice President of Hoarafushi council Imdhah, inadequate preschool education in the Island is a major concern of the residents. Also, “this preschool will produce positive changes to the performance of students in the future” , he added.
Moreover, according to MTCC, the three-classroom school is scheduled to be complete in eight months. And the company stated they are working closely with several local and international non-profits on the project.
Furthermore, the company stated they aim to complete the project as soon as possible, and fulfil the hopes of young children and their parents.
MTCC also stated that enhancing educational access has been a cornerstone of the company’s culture since its establishment, and that it has participated in different CSR activities throughout the years.
