Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has awarded L. Gan Coastal Protection Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed and General Manager of MTCC Shifau Ali signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Under the project to protect the coastal area of L. Gan MTCC has to add 10007 cubic meters of sand to beach, construction of 260 meters Groyne, and 30 meters of revetment.
The project is worth MVR 11.52 million was awarded to MTCC to be completed in 180days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
