Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has completed work on establishing Water and Sewerage systems in B. Goidhoo, R. Kinolhas, N. Maalhendhoo and N. Kudafari.
According to MWSC, commissioning of Kudafari water and sewerage systems in the islands has now been completed. While work is underway to commission Kinolhas, Maalhendhoo and Goidhoo. The work on the four islands will be commissioned by members of the Planning Ministry, Fenaka Corporation and MWSC.
Moreover, MWSC stated that the operators training programme required to maintain the water and sewerage system in the islands has also been completed.
As part of the efforts to establish water systems in the four islands, a main water pipeline network has been established, RO facility building buildings, RO plants and water storage tanks have been installed. Water meters have also been installed in the house and water connections have also been connected.
Furthermore, as part of the project to establish a sewerage system, a main sewerage pipeline network and pumping line have been constructed, an administrative building of the sewerage system has been constructed, a pumping station has been established and a sea outfall has been constructed. Junctions have also been installed at home and sewerage connections have been connected.
MWSC also provided generator sets, vehicles and water analysis equipment to maintain the water and sewerage system under the project.
MWSC was awarded the water and sewerage system of the four islands for MVR 163.55 million.
