Kulhudhuffushi City Council and Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an Air Monitoring Sensor in Kulhudhuffushi City.
According to the Kulhudhuffushi City Mayor Mohamed Athif, the project is planned by the Ministry in several islands of the Maldives. Moreover, Mayor Athif stated that the sensor will identify if there is any pollution in the air in the area and that the amount of gas emissions and waste generated in the area will also be known through the sensor. The mayor also noted that the sensor would help in checking whether the environment is suitable for human life.
