Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the Harbour Development project in R. Kinolhas is progressing at a quick pace. 

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that demolition of existing quay wall and dredging operations of existing Harbour is currently underway.

Under the project to develop Kinolhas Harbour, the company has to dredge 15252 cubic meter harbour basin, construction of a 186 meter quay wall, a 285 meter breakwater, 65 meter revetment, and construction of a 162 meter groyne will be undertaken. In addition, the installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights, developing paved area, and construction of a ramp will be undertaken. 

The project is worth MVR 45.1 million. 

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
