Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that 80% of R. Angolhitheemu Harbour Development Project has been completed. 

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that the last shipment of rock boulders required for the project have been delivered to the project site on February 7, 2022. And dredging works of harbour basin is completed.

Under the project to develop Angolhitheemu Harbour MTCC has to dredge 42615 cubic metres of harbour basin, construction of a 221 meter breakwater, 91 meter quay wall, and revetment of 166 square meter. In addition, the installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights, and construction of 1100 square meter paved area will be undertaken. 

The project is worth MVR 40.7 million. 

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
