Yachts participating in the International Yacht rally “Savaadheetha Dhathuru” organized by Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) have docked in Ha. Uligamu.
According to Uligamu Council Yachts taking part in the rally have docked in the Island. Also, the council has posted photos of the docked yachts in Uligamu.
The event to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Maldivian Tourism began yesterday in Ha. Hoarafushi. Minister of Tourism Dr. Mausoom, Minister of Heritage and Culture Yumna Maumoon, senior officials of MITDC and people from Hoarafushi special attended the ceremonies and activities that were held in the island to inaugurate the event.
Moreover, 12 yachts are taking part in the rally, including those from the US, Australia, Ireland, Thailand, UAE and India.
During the 3 week rally, tour participants will visit islands from the north of the Maldives to Baa Atoll. This includes 11 inhabited islands and four uninhabited islands.
The islands on the tour include Ha. Uligamu, Ha. Hoarafushi, Ha. Matheerah, Ha. Gallandhoo, Ha. Ihavandhoo, Ha. Thakandhoo, Ha. Utheemu, Ha. Baarah and HDh. Nolhivaranfaru, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi, HDh. Keylakunu, Sh. Funadhoo, Sh. Nilandhoo, N. Landhoo, B. Thulhaadhoo, Hanifaru Bay and Biledhoo Thila.
