Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to renovate the harbour of Kamadhoo.

At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

Under the project to upgrade Kamadhoo Harbour MTCC has to dredge 25626 cubic metres of harbour basin, construction of a 180 meter breakwater, revetment, and 346 meter quay wall. In addition, reprofiling of 107 meter from existing breakwater, installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights, and developing a paved area will be undertaken.

The MVR 40 million project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, allocating a completion period of 400 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
