The Tekkers Milo Championship Maldives Cup, which was originally planned to begin on January 18, 2022 has been postponed by a few days due to a surge in covid cases in HDh atoll and more and more islands constantly being put under monitoring.
Even though HDh. Atoll’s tournament is postponed due to the upsurge of Covid cases, Block 2 (Shaviyani and Noonu Atoll) tournament is set to play according to the latest schedule, which is planned to begin on January 26, 2022, in Shaviyani Atoll and on January 31, 2022, in Noonu Atoll. And HDh. Atoll tournament will be played after completion of Block 2. Therefore, as per current schedule HDh. Atoll tournament is set to begin on February 6, 2022.
The champions of the Tekkers Milo Championship Maldives Cup will receive a prize money of MVR 50,000/- while the tournament runner-up will get a prize money of MVR 25,000/-. The atoll champions will also be rewarded with trophies and medals.
