Sewing Course organized by Funadhoo Women’s Development Committee (WDC) has been concluded and certificates have been awarded to the participants.
According to the President of the WDC Farzana Adam the course was organized jointly by Topsy, Funadhoo Council and WDC. Course was conducted from December 31, 2021 to January 12, 2022, with 24 participants. Moreover, Topsy also provided training to two individuals who can be trainers in future.
The certification ceremony held at Funadhoo School was attended by Funadhoo Council President Ahmed Ibrahim Fulhu. And certificates were presented to the participants by council members.
Funadhoo WDC noted that the main purpose of conducting such a course is to provide opportunities for those interested in sewing, as well as to provide income generating opportunities for the women of the island.
WDC thanked Topsy, the council and the Supervisor of the Social Centre Ahmed Faiz for their assistance in successful completion of the event. However, they noted that the biggest difficulty faced in carrying out the course was the lack of a hall to conduct the course.
