“Vaikaradhoo Youth Club Sports Academy” to begin on the first day of the new year

Vaikaradhoo Youth Club is set to begin their “VYC Sports Academy” on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Three sports will be held at the academy in Vaikaradhoo aimed to develop talented athletes in the Island. They are Football, Volleyball and Handball. Football and volleyball are currently aimed for boys. Handballs are aimed for girls. Currently, 61 children are registered at the academy,  39 children in football, 09 children in volleyball and 13 children in handball.

Moreover, according to the Vice President of Vaikaradhoo Youth Club Abdulla Ashraf has said that the opportunity to participate in the academy was opened two months ago. And for the Children registered before the start of the academy Jerseys have also been provided free of charge by the club.

Registered in 2018, the club has been working to promote sports in Vaikaradhoo. And the club has conducted competitions at the island level in the past.
