Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that under the second phase of the Himmafushi Harbour development project, work has commenced the installation of precast concrete blocks for the quay wall construction.

Under the project to develop the second phase of the Himmafushi Harbour MTCC has to dredge 14300 cubic meter of new harbour basin, construction of a 38 meter breakwater, a 248 meter revetment, and a 172 meter quay wall. In addition, the installation of navigation lights and installation of streetlights will be undertaken.

The project is worth MVR 25.88 million. 

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
