Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has awarded the construction of the Maritime Surveillance Centre of Maldives National University (MNU).

At a ceremony held at MTCC, CEO Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company and Vice Chancellor of MNU Dr. Mohamed Shareef signed the agreement on behalf of the university.

Under the project, 1,200 cubic meters of sheet-piled land will be filled, sheet piling of a 35 meters quay wall, concrete blocks will be installed in 27.25 meter area of quay wall, construction of 4.2 meter long 6.4 meter wide ramp, and installation of mooring boulders. In addition, MTCC will also conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the project.

The value of the project is MVR 4.59 million and the project is to be completed within 210 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
