Sewing course organized by WDC commences in Foakaidhoo

Sewing course organized by Foakaidhoo Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in collaboration with Council has commenced in the island.

A total of 23 participants participated in the 25 day course, which began on December 16, 2021. Speaking about the course, President of Foakaidhoo WDC Mariyam Lua, stated that the purpose of the course is to facilitate a path for women’s gain income while working from home.

Moreover, the fee for the course is MVR 3000 per participant. However, for each participant MVR 500 will be paid by the Foakaidhoo WDC. Furthermore, equipment required for the course will also be provided by the WDC. And course is conducted by Fathimath Mariyath, an expert in the profession.

In addition, Foakaidhoo WDC has decided to conduct a pastry course in the Island on March 2022.
