Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has commenced the construction of a water and sewerage system in Himandhoo.
The project was inaugurated by Managing Director of MWSC Hassan Shah at a ceremony held in Himandhoo on December 11, 2021. The ceremony was attended by MWSC Board Member Ibrahim Anwar, MP of Mathiveri constituency Hassan Zareer and President of Himandhoo Council Husham Ismail.
Under the project, work is underway to lay the pipeline required to establish a water and sewerage system and construction of the water plant building is ongoing.
Moreover, as part of the project, a main network of 35 kilometers of water pipeline will be established in Himandhoo, a RO facility building will be constructed and two RO plants will be installed to produce water, and construction of three tanks for water storage. And water meter installation and water connection will be provided to all households.
Furthermore, as part of the sewerage system, a main network of 31 kilometers sewerage pipeline will be established, a 956 meter pumping line will be constructed, construction of three pumping stations and a sea outflow will also be established. Also, junctions will be installed in all the houses and Sewerage connection will be provided to all households.
MWSC will also provide generator sets, vehicles and water analysis equipment to maintain the island’s water and sewerage system.
The project is worth MVR 65.83 million.
