Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has commenced the construction of a water supply system in Mathiveri.

The project was inaugurated by Managing Director of MWSC Hassan Shah at a ceremony held in Mathiveri on December 10, 2021. The ceremony was attended by Chairman of Maldives Post Limited Mohamed Abdulla, MP of Mathiveri constituency Hassan Zareer and President of Mathiveri Council Ahmed Aslam.

Under the project, work is underway to lay the pipeline required to establish a water supply system.

Moreover, as part of the project, a main network of 86 kilometers of water pipeline will be established in Mathiveri, a RO facility building will be constructed and two RO plants will be installed to produce water, and construction of three tanks for water storage. And water meter installation and water connection will be provided to all households.

MWSC will also provide generator sets, vehicles and water analysis equipment to maintain the island’s water supply system.

The project is worth MVR 38.83 million.
