Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that 88% of the F. Dharanboodhoo harbour has been completed.
MTCC also updated on the ongoing work stating that construction of harbour bridge is complete and construction of breakwater is currently ongoing, with 83% completion..
Under the project to develop Dharanboodhoo Harbour, MTCC has to dredge 46600 cubic meter harbour basin, construction of a 253 meter quay wall; a 410 meter breakwater; and a 64 meter revetment. In addition, the installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights and installation of 2500 square meter of paved area will also be undertaken.
The project is worth MVR 40.2 million.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbors.
