As part of the efforts to create awareness among the public on crime reduction, the police conducted an awareness program in two islands of Shaviyani Atoll.
Funadhoo Police Station conducted an awareness program for students from Maaungoodhoo School, parents and the general public of Maaungoodhoo. In this regard, students of grades 4, 5 and 6 of the Maaungoodhoo School were briefed on the harassment.
Moreover, according to the police, the program provided information on the nature of Harassment, how to avoid it and how it will have a negative impact on children. The information shared with the parents also included ways to prevent and advise children on cases of harassment.
Furthermore, the information provided by the police during their visits to households in Maaungoodhoo includes caution against those who obtain money through fraud. In addition, they were also reminded not to share bank card information with others.
