Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that 50% of the Foakaidhoo harbour has been completed.

MTCC also updated on the ongoing work stating that the channel dredging operations are ongoing, with 91% completion.

Under the project to develop Foakaidhoo Harbour, company has to dredge 39995cbm of new harbour basin; 4000cbm of new entrance channel dredging; 1800cbm dredging of currently used harboo; construction of a 464m quay wall; a 507m breakwater; and a 100m revetment. In addition, the installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights and installation of 2320 square meter of paved area will also be undertaken.

The project is worth MVR 52.7 million.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbors.
