Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has begun work on establishing water supply in Muraidhoo.

The project was inaugurated by Managing Director of MWSC Hassan Shah, President of Haa Alifu Atoll Council Moosa Shafeeq, Kelaa constituency MP Ibrahim Shareef, Ihavandhoo constituency MP Mohamed Shifau, and President of Muraidhoo council Ali Shinan at a ceremony held in Muraidhoo on December 2, 2021.

Under the project, currently construction of water plant building is ongoing, and 44% of the building is complete.

Moreover, as part of the project, a main network of 9.1 kilometers of water pipeline will be established in Muraidhoo, a RO facility building will be constructed and two RO plants will be installed to produce water, and construction of three tanks for water storage. And water meter installation and water connection will be provided to all households.

MWSC will also provide generator sets, vehicles and water analysis equipment to maintain the island’s water supply system.

The project is worth MVR 46.85 million.
