Foundation has been laid for a mosque in Sh. Feevah, which is going to be built by a well wisher.
The foundation laying ceremony of the mosque, named Masjid Ali Yoosuf, was held on November 15, 2021.
The mosque, which will allow both genders to pray, will be constructed to make praying easier for residents of the island who live near the harbour area as currently there is no mosque in the harbour area of the island.
154 people’s capacity mosque is contracted to complete in 250 days and will have a minaret, toilets, ablution area, and a storage area.
In Feevah, which has a population of over 1,100, currently has two mosques used for praying.
