The physical work on the project to develop the water and sewerage system in Ha. Maarandhoo has been started by the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
According to MWSC, materials and equipment required for the project is now delivered to Maarandhoo.
A 8.21-kilometer water network, as well as two RO plants, a RO plant facility, and three storage tanks, will be built as part of the project. Also, installation of water meters and connections is included in the project. Moreover, MWSC stated that the RO plant facility is now under construction.
Furthermore, MWSC will also construct a 6.03km sewerage network, with a 800 meter pumping line, three pumping stations, 1 sea outfall and an administrative building for sewerage. Further, sewerage connections will be provided to individual households in Maarandhoo.
In addition, MWSC will provide Generators, Vehicles, and equipment required for water experiments, to operate water and sewerage systems in Maarandhoo.
The project has been contracted to MWSC with a budget of MVR 72.8 million.
