Handball camp conducted in H.Dh Hanimaadhoo by Saabba Ekuveri Club has been successfully completed.
More than 60 participants completed the handball camp which was held from 30th July to 06 August 2021. Main purpose of the camp was to improve the standard of players in the Island and to stimulate people’s interest in the sport.
The rules and regulations of handball were taught during the camp sessions to familiarize participants with the rules of the game. In addition, skill training sessions linked to the game were held to help the participants enhance their talents.
Hassan Ziyad, speaking on behalf of Saabba Ekuveri Club, indicated that, in addition to football and volleyball, handball is a popular sport in the region. Therefore, they hope to stimulate Hanimaadhoo people’s interest in the sport and develop players who can compete on a regional level. He also stated that this is just the beginning, and that they intend to have another similar camp in the future to introduce and promote Beach Handball in Hanimaadhoo.
Hassan expressed gratitude to Hanimaadhoo School, Hanimaadhoo Youth Center, and participants for their cooperation during the Handball camp. He also acknowledged two trainers who taught during the camp for their contributions.
Saabba Ekuveri Club was founded in 2007 and has been contributing to the Hanimaadhoo’s development for the past 13 years. Specifically, to raise the standard of several sports on the island.
